‘Just Married, Please Excuse’ – Contest

Oct/Nov 2010 were probably the busiest 2 months of my life. Starting from finishing pending work at office, fixing up pre-bridal makeup breakouts and distributing cards everything had to be done right before the wedding. And all of it drained so much of my energy that I hardly had any strength to go through the wedding rituals. When the wedding was finally over all I wanted was a good nights sleep for the whole month to recoup from all the wedding stress ;).

The wedding was followed by a reception at Delhi. November being a nice time to visit Delhi a lot of people volunteered to attend the reception. The house was full of guests. Although the considerate elders decided to spare a bedroom for us it was but natural that I left the door open for people to use the washroom in the morning. And when I actually got up from the deep slumber I saw this whole bunch of people including my Mil, Fil and Dh’s grandmother surrounding my bed and waiting for me to open my eyes. Initially I  thought this was probably a ritual in their house but when my father-in law told me what actually happened I felt like digging a big hole where I stood and hide myself forever because of embarrassement 🙂

I apparently kept on shouting “OH,MY GOD!!” so loudly that they got really worried..and could not stop themselves from coming and checking if there was something really wrong between me and their son ;)..When the son was cosily sleeping on the other corner of the bed they realised it was me at my “Sleep-Talking” best 😉

My Father in law till date asks Dh if he ever got hit by me in the sleep 😉 I hope I fulfill his wish sometime..:P

This is my entry for the Just Married,Please Excuse contest here. I have been following Yashodhara’s blog for quite sometime and I must say she has an impeccable writing style. An IIM alumnus and a marketing professional, all her posts have a subtle undertone of humor. I thoroughly enjoy reading her posts. If her posts are anything to go by, the book should be a really fun ride!

Hey Yash – Although I would love to invest on this book, getting it for free would make the joy double. 😉 And does staying in Gurgaon give me an added advantage in winning that Mamagoto date with you? 😉

Edited to share this news with you..

P.S :- And I have won this contest and I am among the lucky 15 who get to go on a lunch date with Yashodhara and HarperCollins Chief Editior at the Mamagoto Gurgaon. Again – Thank you so much Yash!!
